Help! Im a young girl of 12 and i found out i have Hemorrhoids!?

Well like two or three days ago, i was taking a dump. I was straining because I had to get out soon. Well then i felt a bump when i wiped but i was like whatever. Then the next night, I looked in the mirror and there was a bump on my… yeah. Well i didnt know what it was so i was all touching it. Then i told my mom and she told me its because i was pushing too hard. She says that its okay because my mom has it too but she got it when she like in her 30s. At first i thought it was going to go away but then my mom told me that its not going to unless i have surgery. I am MAJORLY afraid now. Well yesterday, i saw some blood on my underwear and im pretty sure its from the lump. Last night, i went online and searched up some stuff on yahoo questions and i found out that i have Hemorrhoids. So these are my questions: When do I have to get surgery? Is it possible for the bump to get at least a little smaller? It just grows if i strain right?Or does it even grow when blood comes out?

Don’t freak out, they are very common. Ask your mom to buy you some preparation H. Apply it to the area at least 2x per day and every time you have a bm (bowel movement). If it doesn’t go away in a week, have your mom schedule you an appointment to see your doctor. Also avoid foods with chocolate for a few days because it causes inflammation. Ask your doctor if you should take metamucil (fiber supplement), and how much. If it hurts sit in a hot bath (as hot as you can stand it without burning yourself, with epson salt) for 20 minutes twice a day until the swelling and/or bleeding stops. Reapply preparation H after your bath.
