I need relief from hemorrhoids! Please help!?

I have a really big one that appeared last night. I have applied prep h this morning, been drinking water, eating and raisin bran. I will take some metamucil fiber later on today. It’s pretty inflammed right now though, and very very uncomfortable. What else can I do? Should I just leave it alone and wait for the swelling to go down? This is embarassing…please help!

If you have hemorrhoid here is how to treat them:
1. Keep it clean: Keep your anal area as clean as possible. Using moist wipes or medicated hemorrhoid pads are more comfortable than toilet paper.
2. Lay down: Avoid sitting and standing for long periods of time, which can put pressure on the hemorrhoids.
3. Let someone else do it: Avoid heavy or moderate lifting.
4. Petroleum jelly: Try some petroleum jelly on the rectum to cool it off and ease bowel movements.
5. Try some ice: Sitting on an ice pack may give some relief from the burning.
6. Use a sitz bath: Sit in enough warm water to cover the hemorrhoids, either in your bathtub or in a sitz bath that fits on the toilet.
7. Use suppositories or creams: Check with your health care team before trying any of the over the counter remedies you may find in a drugstore. See:Medication for Hemorrhoids

If none of these remedies helps, your hemorrhoids get worse, or you see any bleeding, check with your health care team.

Pregnancy and hemorrhoids?

I am almost 31 weeks pregnant and I have a hemorrhoid. It started a few days ago as a minor annoyance and now it hurts extremely bad. I can barely move or walk. It’s an external hemorrhoid and it’s bigger then a pea but smaller then a grape. It hurts so bad. I used Preperation H because it was on my approved list of medications but it didn’t help at all. Will it go away on it’s own and how long does it normally take? Is it normal for it to be this painful?

I just had this problem 1 week ago. I was 29 weeks preggo. It was the most uncomfy thing ever. I had to get a referral from my OB to go to a Hemorrhoid specialist. Needless to say once I went to him the next day things were all better. That Prepartion H stuff does not work on the type of hemorrhoids that preggos get which is what the doc told me. So ask your OB to refer you to a specialist. I know how annoying this is.

Help!!! Butt bleeds.. Can you die from that?

Every time I poop.. I bleed. I don’t strain or anything. It can even be soft and I bleed… Any type of poop makes me bleed. It’s a red type of blood when you get a cut and no, it’s not my period because I’ve already had it. I don’t have sexual activity either. I told my parents and everything and I MAY see a doctor but I don’t want to because I know they are going to make me take my clothes off, and put their finger in my butt. I feel bad about that because I have hair at places and I’m 13………. Please help me… I’m scared!! Plus, my doctor is a guy doctor. What’s the possibility that I have worms? Can I die from bleeding every time because I do bleed a lot. I’ve been hearing about if I have hemorrhoids.. What would it feel like?

go to the doctor. im pretty sure they will have a girl assistant/nurse/doctor to do the exam for you. This could be a real serious condition

Roadroid rage….?

We have road rage. ‘Roid rage is a term used for rage from steroid use. Would “roadroids” be a good term for one of the 20 or more people I encountered today, that acted like “walking hemorrhoids” by jaywalking in heavy traffic?

If you were in Vegas today, the term for their actions would more likely be WUI (walking under the influence….of alcohol).
