Rectal bleeding late in pregnancy ?
Yesterday, for the first time in my life, when I went to use the bathroom (to do #2), there was bright red blood on the tissue when I went to wipe there was also bright red blood in the toilet bowl as well.
I worried, (because I am now 33 weeks pregnant) so I wiped again to see where it was coming from and its coming from my butt !
Since yesterday, it seems to happen whenever I go to the bathroom, and the toilet bowl fills up with bright red blood ! But only if I’ve tried to go #2, if I only go pee, there’s no blood.
I thought maybe its hemorrhoids, since I know pregnant women get that alot, but there is no pain or itchiness after wards at all. And I can sit perfectly fine without being uncomfortable, and I heard that if u have hemorrhoids that it makes it uncomfortable for u to even sit.
So my question is……..
Should I be worrying ? Or is this something totally normal ?
I have hemorrhoids. Sometimes when I go #2, afterwards I dont feel itchy or uncomfortable or anything. Other times, I do. It sounds like you have hemorrhoids. Especially with you saying its bright red blood. I wouldnt worry about it too much. There isnt anything you can do about them. Just when you go back to the doctor talk to them about it. They can prescribe you something in case it ever does get uncomfortable for you. My mom had them so bad that she had to have surgery but she is way past menopause. Just make sure you arent constipated and you dont strain too much cuz that can make them worse! Good Luck! I hope this helps! Also, if it does become uncomfortable, try sitting in a warm bath, that always helps me too! Congrats!
Hemorrhoids in late pregnancy. Contact Doctor or not?
I noticed hemorrhoids forming about 4 weeks ago. They aren’t painful, they don’t bleed. Just very itchy.
So I’ve been using Preparation H for the whole 4 weeks. It’s been treating the symptoms. (no pain, no itching) but the hemorrhoids aren’t going away. I was reading the Prep H directions and it says “if hemorrhoids persist contact physician”. I was at the doctor on Wed and didn’t mention them because, well it’s normal during pregnancy. Should I call her on Monday and ask or, because I know the cause is my pregnancy and it’s normal, should I just keep going and talk to her in a week and 1/2 when I have my next appointment?
Thanks Mother and wife. I drink a ton of water and have been taking fiber for so long (wanted so badly to avoid these things lol). No straining bowel movements, no constipation, just the pressure from my little girl. *sigh*. lol.
Chances are the hemorrhoids aren’t going to go away until after the pregnancy. So it’s more a deal of treating the symptoms.
I would let your doctor know at your next appointment what is going on. Unless you start having painful bowel movements or if you start having bright red blood coming from the hemorrhoids.
Some things you can do besides taking medicine is increase your water and fiber intake. This should help you strain less when going to the bathroom and defiantly help get rid of the hemorrhoids.
Metamucil is a great way to get your daily fiber intake and it doesn’t taste half bad.
Good luck! I know how much hemorrhoidss suck!
