what causes hemorrhoids?..or what are the symtoms of hemorrhoids?
Hemorrhoids are small blood vessels in the anus that get larger after some kind of stress to the area (particularly childbirth). They cause burning, pain when having a bowel movement, and sometimes bleed. Bright red blood on the bathroom tissue is a sign of hemorrhoids. Preparation H or Tucks Pad are the best way to treat them.
By the way, if one ruptures, there can be quite a lot of blood. Don’t panic. Just wipe the area clean and use some Preparation H.
I am 16 and a cross country runner, and I have a hemorrhoid, and it is very painful.
It hurts mostly when I walk, but when I start running the pain sort of goes away but it still bothers me.
I am currently using Preparation H (been using it for about a day now), and it does reduce the size of my external hemorrhoid, but I still have a little pain.
Will it eventually go away if I keep the area clean? And will sweat effect the hemorrhoid because in cross country I get very sweaty.
you should go to the doctor. he can make them disapear without a painful operation, it just takes 5 minutes. my husband had it done once, and it is better than leaving them.
So im pretty sure ive got one, but it doesnt bother me much…just sometimes when i sit lately. Ive heard being overweight, sitting for long periods and eating bad can do this. I checked it out, saw it, and was like “oh that thing’s always been there on my ass” so its been there for years and i never thought it was anything, because it didnt bother me…can that be? i dont wanna go to the doctors, but ill probably have to. any advice?
Use Tucks medicated pads or Hemorrhoid cream. If the swelling goes down, it’s hemorrhoids, if not, then its probably not. If it is hemorrhoids you don’t need to see a doctor unless you start having problems like, the inability to defecate, or bleeding from the rectum. Other wise just treat it at home yourself.
I just turned 21, and have had hemorrhoids twice in the last year. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?
Hemorrhoids can occur at any age.
Sitting on cold concrete and that skinny butt! Is old wives tales.
Hemorrhoids are caused by small veins in the anus filling and becoming engorged with blood due to straining while trying to pass a motion.
They may go back up into the anus and are called internal hemorrhoids. When they come out, and they may stay out, they are called prolapsed hemorrhoids.
You can fix the problem by increasing the fibre in your diet. Drinking lot’s of water and incorporating daily exercise. Such as walking.
This will help prevent straining when trying to move your bowels.
You can obtain hemorrhoid ointment which contains local anesthetic if they hurt and something to help them shrink.
Once you have them, they tend to remain.
If they are severe you can have them surgically removed. But they will return again if straining occurs.
Women who are pregnant usually do not get away without getting hemorrhoids during pregnancy.
I had them when i was in 7th grade i think. It bled for a while. It smelt funny back there. and it hurt like heck!. I think i pulled on it to and riped part of it off and scratched some off with those netty looking washer things. Any who….now i have something that doesn’t bleed its a little discomforting; but not extremely painful like when i was younger. Doesn’t smell….I don’t think. Didn’t really seem to hurt while using the bathroom, but i didn’t want to wipe i was a little scared. So i took a shower. No blood, no smell, no extreme pain, but a little discomfort. And if it is a hemorrhoid…what precautions should i take?
Also…I just yahoo searched it…and my butt doesnt look anything like those things. those are like ahhH!! scary looking. Maybe there rare cases? Its about the size of a penny head (lincoln)
Yeah…no money for a doctor….no the bleed butt smelled funny when i was in 7th grade. no smell now that iknow of.
How to reduce the swelling and itching of Hemorrhoid?
To reduce the swelling and itching, the best options you can consider are warm bathes. Frequent bathes help clean out the rectum and calm the irritation that results in these symptoms. To take a bath thay will work on your problem, you must submerge your bottom in warm water. You can add some medicinal oils or Epsum salt to the water. And always be careful not to use too hot water. Feel the water and be sure it is at the right temperature so you won’t hurt your injuries more. And also be aware that if you are going to bath your bottom, do it correctly since showers aren’t as effective as bathes.

I have both and it hurts so bad when i go to the bathroom. what is the best treatment for this? i’ve contemplated surgery, but scared to go through a painful recovery. i’m so depressed thinking about it and need some encouragement.
For convenience in describing the severity of internal hemorrhoids, many physicians use a grading system:
First-degree hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids that bleed but do not prolapse.
Second-degree hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids that prolapse and retract on their own (with or without bleeding).
Third-degree hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids that prolapse but must be pushed back in by a finger.
Fourth-degree hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids that prolapse and cannot be pushed back in.
Fourth-degree hemorrhoids also include hemorrhoids that are thrombosed (containing blood clots) or that pull much of the lining of the rectum through the anus.
So far the only thing I’m doing is drinking lots of water and eat fiber but it’s been 9 days and my stool has mixed with bright red blood. Could this be just hemorrhoid or something else?
Any bleeding or pain coming from the anus should be checked by a professional to rule out more serious conditions.
Bleeding and/or pain from the anal channel does not only relate to hemorrhoids or piles it can also be caused by much more serious conditions such as cancer or polyps (small growths in the anal channel).
Medical professionals can do an examination of the rectum through a tube. The procedure is known as proctoscopy and is absolutely necessary to rule out cancer or polyps.

I want serious answers please. I want to know how many hemorrhoids a person can possibly have. Is there a limit, or can someone have a 100 hemorrhoids? Can 100 hemorrhoids fit in the anus region?
Hello,
This IS a serious answer. There is no actual number of hemmorhoids that can fit into the anal region. Hemmorhoids can be both external (visible on your anus) or internal (visible only with a colonoscopy or palpable by an internal exam). So, since there are hundreds or thousands of veins in the anal/rectal area, there can be as many hemmorhoids. I hope this helps.
