What is the difference between a hemorrhoid and a polyp?
Size, color, shape…one worse? Can you show me a legitimate picture to distinguish the two?
You can see Hemmorhoids as they usually hang from the rectum and sometimes they are inside the lower bowel
A polyp is usually found on the walls inthe bowel, so not visibly seen unless a colonoscopy is performed.
Polyps are usually removed if found as they may be the begining of bowel cancer ….hemmorhoids are a painful condition because when a bowel action is commenced it will scrape the lining of the hemmorhoid causing it to bleed.
Polyps would be worse even though you have no symptoms…..hemmorhoids are painful but can be removed surgically.

After having such darlings for over 35 years I have become used to their peculiarities. I’ve learned there are times when YOU do NOT bend down and you don’t even try to sit down and there are times when you do not even walk. Ah yes… life… ain’t it grand!
p.s. having a soft pillow in the car to sit on helps.

I am a 19 year old female. When i was 16 I first began noticing a small amount of blood in the toilet water whenever i went to the restroom. I immediately went to my pediatrician and they checked for anal fissures and hemorrhoids, and said I had neither but the stool samples they took also showed I had bleeding they could not see. They never told me anything more and since they were not concerned neither was i.
I am now 19 and I still have this problem on and off but still quite frequently. I find that I have a moderate amount of blood in my stool, as well as clots sometimes and blood in the toilet water. I have NEVER had any pain when I have bled from this. The past couple of days I have noticed my stools are now a VERY dark black, and today I began bleeding from my anus without even passing a stool. And the bleeding was a very bright red, but wasn’t very much. Once again, still no pain.

I had a hemorrhoid growing last month along with another small one by it but it never was inflamed. Now that is inflamed, and the other has shrunk significantly. My question is, is it normal to have TWO hemorrhoids?
Drink lots of water, and walk…the water and exercise keeps everything moving so you won’t stop up, which causes straining, making hemorrhoids worse, warm tub baths and avoiding sitting on hard surfaces helps too.

It will stop on it’s own. But I would advise you to go to the doctor to be evaluated. If it was large enough to present a problem with bleeding to the point you wonder how to stop it, you may need treatment.
